Dragon Lady Painting

I've just completed two more paintings. At the end of March I will be having a one woman show at the Oceanside Art Gallery in Carlsbad.

The first painting is "Portrait of Ana". It is 24" x 30" oil on canvas.

The second painting is "Mating Season". It is 12" x 24" oil on canvas.

I'm working on few more pieces simultaneously. As I finish them I will publish them to the blog.

Something New

Here's a painting I'm working on. It's a special painting. A friend, a special friend has commissioned me to do this painting as a surprise for a loved one.

I'm enjoying using all my various learning's from the past few years to create this piece.

Warms, cools, brushstroke, values, colors, direction, movement and more.

Hope they like it.

Portrait of Rachel

"Rachel " is a beautiful young woman who I recently had the pleasure to paint.

This is a commission to be given to Rachel's mom for Christmas.

It is an 11" x 14" oil on canvas board.

Yet another Painting

Okay this was a tough one for me to paint. I took this photo out at a friends ranch. A fire in a tall industrial can was started but the wood was wet thus lot's of smoke. My colors were limited and it was hard for me to stay in all those grey/blue tones of smoke. So there is an occasional splash of color.

Okay this is a large 36" x 48" painting that I completed recently. I used big brushes to obtain textural variation and color. I painted this from a model I had in the Figurative class I've been attending.

So here it is.
