Some time has past and some new paintings have been created

Wow time flew by on me.
I have been working. Trying to get value, tone and color right.
It's certainly challenging. I was handed a new vocabulary with it comes the responsibility of defining it...applying it to my work. This might take some time but invariably I will succeed.
With that said here are some new works.

The first piece, the nude is a study and not yet complete and I'm still working on the cowboy piece which is from a photo I took while vacationing in Borrego Springs with my family this past fall. The saucy cigarette yielding woman is an Ode to Vargas. The bottom piece is a study in mood. The White duck was created with compliments to the Wild Animal park and is from a photo I took this summer.

Hope you enjoy.

More painting being painted

in process, a new beginning

Currently I am working on several pieces at a
time as I find that oil painting encourages such action. I am enjoying the prospecting from one journey to the next.
My mind is filled with so many ideas that this is as the saying goes a perfect way to get them down on paper.

Tomorrow I will begin yet another painting. This will be a ballerina.

In any event I'd like to share with you so here are some of my advancements/journeys.

Did I forget to mention I am also working on quite a few commissions.

almost done.

Today's Painting Advancements??!!

Well I'm working it.

Amongst mixed achievements and contradictory failures a painting is born.
I know this all takes time and I'm actually enjoying the growing pains,as pleasant and unpleasant as they may be.

So here they are still in progress. Not quite ready for total public consumption....but enough for a taste.

Another new painting

I'm learning that oil painting takes time. One must be patient and let the paint dry.... enough to continue to work on it so colors won't compromise each other... turn into mud.

So I work on a few pieces at a time.

Here's a new one. The current model in my workshop is a armour clad man.

The model actually designs renaissance gear.... mail, leather ware and archery goods.

It's going to take some time for me to really get his armour to shine but I will get there. I've already put aside my first "attempt", painting and started this one.

So here he is Mr. Loveduck Leather
I will go out into the studio this afternoon and continue my quest.

So here's the first one. I started working on it this morning and am using oil paint on wood. I may add some gold leafing toward the end.. we'll see

There will be a painting or drawing created

My plan is this:

Each day I will touch a pencil or brush to paper or canvas and create.

I will track my acomplishments as small or large as they may be . At the end of the day I will lay my head comfortably on a pillow with a feeling of acomplishment.
After the recent loss of my Ginger man.....(14 1/2 year old red head kitty) to cancer I am more determined then ever to make my goal.
