Grizzly Bear Painting

This is Bruno. Bruno is forging for goodies...playing in the stream on the way.
I used a pallet knife mostly wanting to get the movement of his thick coat. This time my pallet of color was a bit more subdued not as contrasty as usual. This painting has become a fun learning experience. Something I highly recommend.  He's almost done..perhaps some more work on the background..

Fox painting

I've been working a couple of painting simultaneously a fox and a grizzly bear.

Here's the fox. Not named yet...
15" x 20" oil on canvas.

And in the beginning there was a Grizzly Bear

A Grizzly Bear named Bruno.

 Here is the starts of a new painting.

24" x 30" Oil on canvas. Mostly pallet knife.

I'm going to leave this alone for now. Maybe revisit in the future.

Next day more work. I'm becoming thankful for much...one is my exploration into abstract.

I just came back from a most amazing trip/wildlife workshop. It was at the Triple D ranch in Montana.   I am truly grateful to have worked with two extremely talented artists,  Greg Beecham and Julie T Chapman.
Myself, along with 11 other wonderfully talented artists had the opportunity to photograph, talk art and do art for 4 days in BEAUTIFUL Montana.

So here's the first "start" of a painting from a photograph I took at the ranch....a red fox...
