Fox painting continues

More work today. One thing..I must mind my brush strokes....still challenged by working smaller..
Here it is..Day 2 of painting:

Fox painting on oil paper

I'm trying a new substrate, oil paper.  The paint works pretty well with the surface.
 I'm using both pallet knife and brush with a small amount of non toxic solvent.
Here's a first try, not yet done. I tend to work on a few pieces at a time.

Mountain lion painting

The work continues on the Mountain Lion. She was left undone as I addressed some serious personal loss.  So now I continue. The painting is 24" x 36" in oil. Not done yet...getting there.

Lynx Painting

It's difficult to work small...seems to be just as if not more challenging as working large.
So here's the Lynx on Wood...done mostly with pallet knife and some brush work.

We're having a disagreement...the painting and I.  I want to relinquish my control and let the painting speak...if it's not too late.

A Lynx painting

This is the starts of a Canadian Lynx oil on wood. I'm enjoying color.
After completing a few sketches and small color studies the Lynx painting begins.  The substrate is a cradled birch wood which has been coated with an amber shellac. Once again I'm working with pallet knives . So far here it is:

Ok, This bear is finished. 8*x 10"  oil on Birchwood.  " Westbound"
