Moma elephant and her baby..oil on linen

Having fun again. I photographed these two when I visited the Safari Park in San Diego.
It was a beautiful spring day and there they were mother and child.
The painting is a 24" x 18" oil on linen. So far I've used a pallet knife only.

Another painting in the works Mountain Lion

This is the beginning of a 24" x 30"  oil on linen of a female mountain lion.  So far I've used pallet knife only to apply the paint. The under drawing was done with brush. I'm enjoying color...
After my trip to Montana attending a workshop with Greg Beecham and Julie T Chapman, I have to say many new visions have opened up to my creativeness.  Thank you to Greg for telling me about Grays...I love grays and warm white.

So here it is thus far:

Mother Mountain Lion and Kitten

This is a large painting 24" x 48".  Working large feels better for me. So I'm back at it.
When I was in Montana I photographed a mother mountain lion with her kittens. So here's one I'm working on. Using oil and applying it with pallet knife and brush.
